As a Puerto Rican resident, you have the right to vote. There are approximately 13,000 residents in Rincón, and the number of registered voters changes constantly, according to the Permanent Election Board office in town.
In the 2016 mayoral election in Rincón, Carlos López Bonilla won re-election with 4,337 votes which was exactly 1,400 more votes than the second-place candidate Roberto Feliciano Rosado.

1. Documents Required
Born in the United States? You will need to bring the following:
1. Birth certificate, passport, passport card or certificate of naturalization
2. Power, water or other bill that shows your physical address in Puerto Rico
3. Last four digits of your social security number

*If you were born in Puerto Rico, your birth certificate information is already in the system so you do not need to bring it with you
2. Where to Go to Register
You can register to vote at the office of the Permanent Election Board in Rincón, in the same building as the 1 to Seven Plus store. The door is located on the right side of the building. You will have to park out front or behind the building, then walk to the side of the building to locate the entrance.

FREE AND EASY PROCESS
After registering, you will be given an electoral identification card that you must present on election day. For more information about your right to vote, visit the State Election Commission at www.ceepur.org and Ley Electoral.
NOW, GO VOTE!
You can participate in three types of elections in Puerto Rico:
1. The municipal elections, where residents can vote for Mayor and the Municipal Legislative
2. The governing election, where you can vote for Governor and the Resident Commissioner
3. The legislative election, where you elect Senators and Representatives
On June 7, you can vote in the local primaries to select the candidate who will represent the party of your choice for the three types of elected positions described above.
